More on me
I’m Laura Booch, the photographer and founder of Sea + Spruce Studios, a boutique portrait studio based in Kodiak, Alaska. I’ve spent more than 20 years behind the camera, and over time, I’ve learned that the most meaningful portraits come from feeling comfortable and truly seen.
What matters most to me is making sure you feel confident throughout the entire process. You don’t need to know how to pose or “be photogenic”—that’s my job. Every session is personally planned, styled, and fully guided (yes, even posing), so you can relax and trust that you’re being photographed at your best.
In a world that’s increasingly digital, I believe printed photographs are more precious than ever. Phones break. Platforms change. Tangible photographs last. The albums, matted prints, and heirloom artwork created during our sessions are meant to be held, shared, passed down, and rediscovered long after technology shifts.
I founded Sea + Spruce to bring an elevated, thoughtfully guided portrait experience to the community I grew up in. Kodiak’s story has long been recorded and remembered through photographs, writing, artwork, and other tangible pieces of history. My goal is simple: to create timeless portraits that tell your story and preserve it in print.
(And yes—matching digital files of your finished artwork are included.)
